[152] Bane: Sweet Changes

Players of Waterdeep,
Welcome to the opening of the Waterdeep Sweet Sixteen birthday party!
That's right, we have yet to begin. To kick off, I'm announcing a few
changes! Some small, some a little bigger.
- You will notice that the entire login / character creation code has
been rewritten. Many issues with the creation system have been fixed and
I introduced some color in an attempt to make things more clear and pretty.
- Wanted no longer spams when wanted players quaff potions. I would also
strongly advise players to no longer try to get wrid of wanted by using a
low level NPK to kill you.
- The code that is responsible for all damage on the mud has been rewritten
in order to fix a number of bugs that have puzzled people for years. For
instance, do you remember when people were told not to use strike or death-
touch to kill a run mob because then rewards would not pop? Found fixed, and
more like that.
- Cleave has been tweaked, after careful comparison, to have a little higher
success rate. I'm confident it will make a strider more useful again without
overpowering it like it was before.
- The anti-gangbang bash code has been tweaked after observation of the
current effects. This code effects victims bashed by multiple glads at the
same time, and has no direct effect on 1 vs 1 combat.
- The word of recall spells is no longer empowerable. This has been changed
in conjunction with the bash code.
- The help system has been given an overhaul. Typing help <keyword> will now
actually help you get to the right content, and there's a help search option
to search through actual help text.
- Some bugs with the gain (skill/spell) code have been fixed and the spell-
and skill lists have been pimped. They now also show level 101 entries.
- Since the introduction of NOLOOT there is no more real need for a flee
penalty that prohibits removal of equipment. Therefore, the flee penalty no
longer affects wearing/removing equipment. It is still in affect for things
like backstab moves.
- Many things have been changed around the aspects of building, mainly
mprogs. This allows our builders to bring you more interactive and awesome
area's, as you will witness soon. The details have been posted to the builder-
port.
- And before I forget, I'm pleased to introduce an entirely new class to
Waterdeep.
Thank you all for playing, you guys make the work worthwhile!
Enjoy!
